Ethos, Greece
Ethos is a black and white photography project by George Tatakis, developed across Greece through the documentation of local customary events and rituals. The work focuses on moments that exist outside staged representation, where gesture, costume, and collective presence form compositions in real time. Rather than describing tradition, the images isolate fragments of it, often appearing unfamiliar or ambiguous when removed from their context. The project has been exhibited at institutions including the Benaki Museum and the Fragonard Museum, with works published in international media such as National Geographic.
