Photographed in Santorini, this black and white image is structured around depth through compression.
The composition is built along a narrow passage enclosed by curved walls. The frame is tightly contained, with small openings on both sides introducing controlled interruptions. The passage leads inward, guiding the eye toward a distant point of light.
The environment consists of continuous Cycladic surfaces shaped by curvature rather than sharp edges. Walls bend and connect, forming a tunnel-like structure. The texture remains subtle, with minor surface variations.
The relationship between elements is restrictive. The walls compress the space, limiting lateral movement and directing vision forward. The small openings act as secondary points, but the primary structure remains linear and enclosed.
Light enters from the far end of the passage. It gradually transitions from shadow to illumination, creating a soft gradient rather than abrupt contrast. The rendering emphasizes depth through tonal progression.
