A foreground figure occupies the right edge of the Olympoi interior, set in close proximity to the frame, while two bodies are held deeper within a doorway behind. The opening defines a secondary field, separating near and distant positions into distinct planes.
This separation establishes depth through containment. The doorway fixes the background figures within a confined structure, while the foreground interrupts the space, shifting the image from a single portrait to a layered relation between positions.
Part of the Caryatis series, a long-term body of work exploring traditional Greek costume through directed portraiture.
