The Metsovo interior divides the figures into two distinct fields, with standing bodies occupying the foreground and seated figures held deeper within the space. This separation establishes a clear break, structuring the image through distance rather than continuity.
The division fixes each group within its own position. The image holds in balance between proximity and withdrawal, shifting from a unified arrangement to a controlled opposition where each side carries its own weight.
