Description
A group of women stands within a dense cornfield in Evros, their presence both grounded and ceremonial. The central figure faces forward, framed by the others in a quiet, deliberate formation that suggests both unity and hierarchy.
The surrounding vegetation rises almost to eye level, enclosing the scene and merging the figures with the landscape. The textures of fabric, jewelry, and foliage interact under the light, creating a layered composition where tradition and environment become inseparable.
This photograph is part of an ongoing body of work documenting traditional Greek dress and identity, where the subject is not only the individual, but the collective presence and its connection to place.
This work is presented in a print edition format, where the title and signature are integrated into the composition.
Printed on matte archival paper using a high quality giclée process. Available in multiple sizes.
This image was photographed in Evros, Greece, as part of George Tatakis’ long term work documenting traditional Greek clothing, cultural identity, and collective presence through black and white photography.
