Three figures occupy separate positions within the room, while a fourth appears only through reflection. The seated figure anchors the foreground, the standing figure turns away, and the mirror introduces a second, contained presence within the same space.
The image operates through duplication and displacement. The reflection is not secondary but equal, extending the scene beyond direct view. This division between physical presence and mirrored presence structures the work, holding both within a single, controlled frame.
Part of the Caryatis series, a long-term body of work exploring traditional Greek costume through directed portraiture.
