BLACK AND WHITE ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
Abandoned Interior — Filiates, Epirus, Greece
Photographed inside an abandoned house in Filiates, in the region of Epirus, this black and white image captures a space shaped as much by absence as by presence.
Light enters through the small window, defining the geometry of the room — the fireplace, the table, the worn surfaces that remain long after the people have left.
Objects are still in place, but their function has shifted. What once served daily life now exists as trace — fragments of a past that quietly persist within the space.
The photograph is not about architecture alone, but about time — how it transforms interiors into memory, and presence into silence.
Stripped of colour, the image focuses on structure, texture, and light, allowing the viewer to engage with the space without distraction.
Part of the Epirus collection, documenting interiors and environments across the region of northwestern Greece.
Printed as an archival pigment print on Hahnemühle fine art paper.
