From the book to the wall

Thank you for experiencing Caryatis. The book brings together the central body of the project. A selected group of photographs is available as archival photographic editions, produced in Greece with the same attention to structure, tone, and material presence that defines the work itself.

These are not reproductions of a decorative series. They are photographic works intended to live in private homes, collections, hotels, offices, and cultural institutions.

Selected works from Caryatis

A focused selection of photographs from the Caryatis project, chosen for collectors, interior spaces, and readers who wish to continue the work beyond the book.

Produced as photographic objects

Each print is produced as an archival pigment print with careful control of tonal range, contrast, and surface. Framed works are prepared to order, using materials selected to preserve the quiet authority of the image rather than compete with it.

Open editions, signed editions, and collector editions are produced separately, allowing each work to occupy the right level of presence for the space and the collection.

About
Luxurious interior with marble walls, chandelier, and framed black and white photography print in a high-end establishment. By George Tatakis.

For homes, hotels, offices, and cultural spaces

Black-and-white photography has a particular ability to enter architectural spaces without overwhelming them. Caryatis works are suited to interiors where form, light, and cultural reference need to support the atmosphere of the room rather than compete with it.

Selected works may be considered for private collections, hospitality projects, offices, restaurants, cultural institutions, and carefully designed residential spaces.

About Caryatis

Caryatis is George Tatakis’ photographic project dedicated to traditional female attire in Greece. The work moves beyond documentation, using staged black-and-white photographs to examine the relationship between garment, body, architecture, heritage, and inherited form.

The images often connect traditional attire with the interior language of ancestral homes, treating both as structures of continuity. Each photograph is constructed with precision, but remains faithful to the cultural origin of the garments it presents.
