A seated figure holds a fixed position within the Vovousa interior, partially revealed by light while the rest recedes into shadow. The framing isolates her presence, limiting the image to a contained field where visibility is controlled.
A second presence appears through the framed photograph beside her, extending the image beyond the immediate figure. This relation introduces continuity without proximity, shifting the work from singular portrait to a structure held between what is present and what remains.
Part of the Caryatis series, a long-term body of work exploring traditional Greek costume through directed portraiture.
