Photographed in Prespes, this black and white image is structured around presence through triangular arrangement.
The subjects are organized across three levels. One figure is seated, another positioned slightly lower in the foreground, and a third stands behind, forming a vertical triangle. Their posture is still and frontal. The seated figure anchors the composition, while the standing figure stabilizes the upper axis.
The environment is a church interior defined by an iconostasis with painted icons and suspended metal lamps. A carved lectern stands to the right, while a candle stand occupies the left. The background is dense with visual elements, yet contained within a clear horizontal structure.
The relationship between subject and environment is integrative. The figures are embedded within the iconographic field, aligning with the vertical and horizontal divisions of the space. The triangular formation contrasts with the rigid structure of the background, introducing a controlled tension.
Light is directional and low, isolating the subjects against a darker surrounding. Faces and garments are selectively illuminated, while the iconostasis recedes into shadow. Material details in fabric, wood, and metal are preserved with sharp tonal transitions.
