BLACK AND WHITE ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

In the winter of 2022, I travelled to six islands in the Dodecanese, in the Aegean Sea of Greece. One of these islands was Rhodes. The largest of the Dodecanese, Rhodes is home to a very well-preserved castle in its capital as well as the medieval town of Lindos, still preserved intact. I have photographed the traditional costumes of five different areas, the most characteristic ones of the island.

Empona village is located on the east coast of Rhodes and it is said to be one of the most beautiful places on the island. The village has a long history dating back to the 4th century BC when it was founded by the Dorian Greeks. Empona was an important trade centre in antiquity and it was also known for its pottery and wine production. Today, Empona is a popular tourist destination due to its unspoiled beauty and spectacular views. Visitors can find many photo opportunities in Empona, from its picturesque streets and architecture to its stunning natural landscape.
