Details: Product Description Dali by Halsman presents a selection of eighty-eight photographs of Salvador Dali taken by Philippe Halsman (plus a gouache by Dali painted on a photograph), for which Dali's involvement was both physical and conceptual. The pictures shown in this collection were kept by Dali throughout his life; they are reminiscences of his thirty-seven years collaboration, from 1941 to 1978, with Halsman, a fellow alchemist of the creative process. About the Author Philippe Halsman was an American portrait photographer. He was born in Riga in the part of the Russian Empire which later became Latvia in 1906, and died in New York City in 1979. He met Dali in 1941 and worked with him throughout the following decades. His 1947 photograph of Albert Einstein became one of the most iconic portraits of the 20th century.
