The pictures shown in this collection were kept by Dali throughout his life; they are reminiscences of his thirty-seven years collaboration, from 1941 to 1978, with Halsman, a fellow alchemist of the creative process. About the Author Philippe Halsman was an American portrait photographer. He was born in Riga in the part of the Russian Empire which later became Latvia in 1906, and died in New York City in 1979.
