Description
In the winter of 2022, I travelled to six islands in the Dodecanese, in the Aegean Sea of Greece. One of these islands was Rhodes. The largest of the Dodecanese, Rhodes is home to a very well-preserved castle in its capital as well as the medieval town of Lindos, still preserved intact. I have photographed the traditional costumes of five different areas, the most characteristic ones of the island.

Afantou is a village located on the east coast of Rhodes, Greece. It is one of the largest villages on the island and is home to a number of interesting historical sites. The village was founded in the late 17th century by Greek settlers who were fleeing from the Ottoman Empire. Afantou has a long history of fishing and agriculture, and its residents have always been known for their hard work and determination. In recent years, Afantou has become a popular tourist destination, due to its beautiful beaches and its close proximity to Rhodes' main city, Lindos. Visitors to Afantou can learn about the village's history at the Museum of Afantou, which houses a collection of artefacts that date back to ancient times.
